Our Story
Where Jesus Reigns and Rains!

Pastor James H. Quick Sr. was God divinely inspired him to further his ministry by pastoring. On December 28, 1972, the keys opened the door to a small white church on Kings Run Drive in Winton Terrance with 35 members studying in one large room and many of them sang in the choir.

In the early 1990’s because of spiritual and physical growth the ministry of the Good News Church, expanded its walls and the Lord blessed the church to build an education wing with new classrooms, offices, a conference room, and bathrooms. Elder Quick served as the Assistant Pastor at the James Temple Church of God in Christ for 11 years under the teaching and leadership of Bishop William Morgan James. In 1972, the Holy Ghost led him to branch out and pastor his own church. In December 1972, the Good News COGIC at 570 Kings Run Drive was born. In 1980, the church moved to its present location at 1063 North Bend Road.

As a result of more spiritual and physical growth, in June of 2010 a brand new sanctuary was constructed and dedicated on the campus with a more than 450 seating capacity.
